Mad Max: Fury Road (Practice Paragraph)

For the past few weeks in English, we have collectively been studying close-viewing the film, Mad Max: Fury Road directed and illustrated by ´George Miller. We practiced studying and writing about its key film aspects. The chosen scene we were given to analyze was the ´Furiosa Redemption Scene´. 

In the redemption scene, director Gregor Miller's, use of dialogue was truly passionate-purposeful a helped gave an understanding of how childhood trauma affects even those of these strongest-minded. At the beginning of the scene, where Max is recklessly awoken by a horrific dream, with an aghast expression on his face. To find Furiosa driving the war rig, ensuring Max ¨it´s okay, sleep, get some rest¨. But still trying to shake the feeling of his damaged past.

Establishing shoot into a close-up on Max's face, where he stares out into nothingness as far as the eyes can see. Curiously asking how Furiosa ¨knows if the green place even exists¨. like he doesn't fully believe a place good to be true exists. It here when Furiosa tells Max ¨I was born there¨  this causes Max to feel confused and say, ¨why´d you leave¨ for Furiosa to respond in a doleful way ¨I didn´t, I was taken as a child, stolen¨ thinking about her old self and how her whole world was taken away from her. Leaving nothing but sorrowfulness in her eyes. Max proceeds to ask ¨have you done this before¨ Furiosa replies ¨many times, now that I drive a war rig, this is the best shot I´ll ever have¨. Still not able to take that dreadful moment out of her head. Max turns around pointing at the sleeping wives ¨and them¨ Furiosa says ¨they´re looking for hope¨ Max also draws the question towards Furiosa and asks ¨what about you¨ Furiosa turns and stares into the ray of light and says ¨Redemption¨. As she no longer sees herself as human, so she wanted redemption proven to herself. Shows a low-angle shot of Nux sympathizing with what Furiosa is feeling. Cause he also has something to redeem himself for. The director uses dialogue to effectively show the audience, the change in the relationship between Max and Furiosa. Looking back in the previous scene of how they met and fought for survival, going from seeing each other as enemies to allying with one another. Explaining that everyone you see in the war rig has a reason for fleeing the Citadel, where Immortan Joe ´rains supreme´ like they are connected in a way. 

Smooth sounds of gentle playing violin´s in the background, with a tender tone. Set a heart-touching moment, that has an impact on the audience. Expressing the world hasn´t been easy on Furiosa and her past is always going to be a big part of her. 

Traceback to when Furiosa was seeking redemption, ¨she ultimately redeemed herself, by being the one to kill Immortan Joe¨, during the race to the citadel. Taking control of the oasis, having the opportunity to improve all the flaws in the place. In a way, the audience could relate to Furiosa's emotions and feelings. Knowing deep down inside you're also trying to fight and prove something. Not only to yourself but maybe to others as well, holding you back, having the urge to break free from its grasp. This is what Furiosa did, in succeeding why she needed to redeem herself. Basically saying, ¨if Furiosa had the courage and willingness to fight for what she believes in, So Can You¨. 

 

My Kaupapa (Art Lv 3) Blog post 1

My Kaupapa for this year is going to be Fantasy (imagination of many possibilities). This is my chosen theme because "it allows the reader to experiment with ways they see the world". For me, it's like expressing your inner thoughts out into the world. The reason why I wanted to do this particular theme is that I'm a huge fan of mythical legends and Isekai anime (Reborn, reincarnated, and summoned into another world). The magical thing about art is that it explains and lets people see a different side of you without needing the words to express it. 

For this year I am trying to develop a concept of a euphony world with all diversity linking in arms and

arms with one another. Until a strange force erupted the earth, turning the blue clear sky mid-night

black with no sign of light. splitting the ground in two, opening a passage for the underground demons

to escape. On a roam to slaughter all life forms on earth, until a bright blimming light shoots down

from the sky allowing angels to step foot onto the mortal world. Beginning the first war world I,

between the underworld soldiers and the heavenly angels.

Friends is more important than money

friends! What is the meaning of friends? Well, it is a relationship between two or more significant people who have a strong bond and enjoys one another company and in addition, may consider them as family. No doubt that friendship is more important than money. Friends can support, care, and love you, whereas money could only provide temporary happiness through material things. We can live with less money, but not without friends. Which would you rather prefer? 

 To live a life without regrets and worthy life, you have to build yourself up first. By doing that you need to make friends and rivals along the way. Because friends make our lives an adventure. The urge to explore and experience every little thing together without thinking about the consequences behind our actions. Giving that lively thrill to live on, but money tears those things down in a split second. Everything you know 6 feet under, thinking about how it has come to this. 

Tracing back to a meth ad I just finished writing about how she gave her body up for meth. The sole purpose of not having any money, but it has seemed that they are both in it together because their friendship was strong. 

Of course, money can solve most of our life's problems but living without no friends shows how erupted and lonely you are. Take this type of situation: You had been offered 3 billion on your behalf but there's a catch. You have to live alone for the rest of your life, and you can’t interact with your families nor friends. Meaning you have to become a loner. 

If you take a moment to think about yourself and what you want. It will be very crystal clear in what you need to obtain your heartfelt desires. Making that right choice of what type of role model you would want in your life. The wealth of money or The power of friendship. 

2- The more you curve money the more you rob your future-self. Setting impossible paths, that leads you to no-where. But friends would guide you to freedom. 

For example: By taking a road to make drugs, robbing banks, and stealing a daily struggle. It's because you have become too addicted to always having cash on your fingertips. Until it all comes falling on your feet. Having friends that discriminate against such behavior, there are real ones that would help you find yourself. 

Having friends that interfere with your future goals, always asking for money is not the one for you. Friends that help build yourself up, are ones you should be representing yourself to. Gaining better influences that helps you grow and develop who you are. 

3- Money can get what you want, but friendship provides you what you need. 

when you are feeling down, and thinking shopping would help you cheer up. No cause money can’t always buy you happiness, it's not something you put a price on an order to get it. It is something you need to gain. 

Having the whole money in the world could gain your power, but doesn’t bring you close to anyone. Setting your reputation high, because of your riches. Saying you don't no one except money. You can’t buy friends to love and provide happiness to you because it's from inside. Emotionally Feelings, that you can not put a price on. 

Conclusion: Why friendship is more important than money, here is some example why: Because building relationships with others is healthy, feeling connected, and satisfied with life decisions. Quote, apostle Paul said: money is the root of all evil, but friendship doesn’t feed off your desperation. But help find yourself. Money puts a price on things and temporary pleasances ’, but friends' value is free and provides nothing but endless happiness. All sufficient points that friendship should be more treasured than money. 

Money has become centuries-old, and friendship only lasts a short amount of lifetimes. Treasure your friendship before it's too late.

English Research

Pathos, Ethos, Logos 

Pathos- appeals to adiuence emotionals, for example: making them feel sorry for the main character. Relating to the character feelings. movations to take action, or make them smile and laugh.

 What is logos? Logos is the persuasive technique that aims to convince an audience by using logic and reason. Also called “the logical appeal,” logos examples in advertisement include the citation of statistics, facts, charts, and graphs.

Ethos is the persuasive technique that appeals to an audience by highlighting credibility. Ethos advertisement techniques invoke the superior “character” of a speaker, presenter, writer, or brand. Ethos examples aim to convince the audience that the advertiser is reliable and ethical.

Mijieli Horse

For my kaupapa i have been focuing on is pacific style (patterns), enviroment and animals my main ideas for my portfolio. Taking little things from each theme and putting into one work to express a different side of things. For example i have been working in class for the pass few weeks on print making, curved and laserd out horses. Using different art form to visualize the horse in different scene of art work. In the images below would demonstrate meaning. Of what i am trying to say through my art works.

In my first series of art work i had draw the out of the horse, of what it supposed to look like the body and position. Then i rewrote the same position horse again on the other side of the page, with a bit more features and details. I did that four time to as you can see in the image, until it show it's finish layout. Looking at different stages of drawing the horse.
Second Piece of art work was laser cutting the horse out in the laser cutter meachine. While aslo layering it out with a layer of inc, for me to make a dark ocean colour base background with the horse standing out in the middle.
