The Power Of One.

The movie The Power Of One, is a novel by Australia author [Bryce Courtney]. He first published the movie  in 1989 he traveled to south African, set there in the 1930s and 1940s. In the first half of the movie peekay was the narrator, allowing us to know more about his feelings and thoughts in such ways    . During the match between peekay and ------the director was trying to show the intention feeling between them. Give a little idea what is happening in the moment, to test peekay skills, if he really have what it takes to become the rainmaker. In this short scene they used tracking, close up and long shot to see the movement of their body. Every single strength and mana the had in the body.

Paragraph 1

The movie power of one, in the scene when peekay was fighting Gideon Duma. Used 5 shot long shot, established shot, over the shoulder, mid shot, and close up. They was a lot of motion in this scene. These shot was to give the scene more. 

The director used close up to show the expiration of the fighter faces. He also used establishing shot to show the audience. How the crowd in the movie is taking all the initiation between the two fighters.

It was an overwhelming moment for everyone in the building.

This was supposed to give the audience the burning rage inside. He put this scene into the movie show  the audience. If Peekay is really meant for the name the rainmaker. When the elephant appeared this was one of his tests. Not only for the title but to overcome his fears and he is one step closer to achieving it.

At the first half peekay was going to lose the fight. Until he found Gideon Duma weakness turning the fight around and taking it home. Peekay show me that you have to fight for what you believe in. don’t take things like that lightly.

The purpose of this film is to show that if life. Throws you  lemons you gotta make lemonade. But trying to reach your goals even though you don't believe in yourself. You got people backing you up, supporting you. Even though they were taking Gideon Duma side that change. After the fight now they believe that their hero came to change this apartheid once and for all.

Paragraph 2

The director used, Establishing shot. to show the surrounding and giving the audience. A point of view, remind the audience where the scene is taking place and its extremely long shot. Showing his new ally, family and people standing behind him.

This helped me see what else is going on in the background. others from the fighter’s. For my viewpoint. I see people letting go out cheering for the player. Coming together like a family doing what they believe knowing the risk. Peekay and Gideon Duma fight was one inspiring  fight out there. One fighting for own the other cause. His heart think its the right thing to do.

He was trying to give an idea of what is happening at the outside not inside. Sometimes you have to think outside. The box to smash the ground with the win. That is how peekay win the match them not only focusing. On his capability but vulnerability then he took it home.  

This is super effective in this scene because it is telling the audience. The expression of the people on the outside of the ring. All the commotion, confusion, and burning sensation given off from the fighting affected by them.

Establishing shot only got that scene and a bit more. Come to think of it if you thought you saw it all in that one country. Image getting to all the different country. In one screen that is how establishments shot work. It tells a story that not only happening inside but all around us. 

Paragraph 3

Close up shot was one of the directors specialty in the movie [The Power Of One] mostly in that scene there was a collision of combination of shot including the close up. Medium and long shot. Making it more interesting.
Others from close up there were tracking. Following through the opponent movement focus on the main picture. Over the shoulder, showing the reaction of the fighter face and stamina during the fight.
Director was trying to show that how the Africans. Feel physically and mentally you could see on their faces. All the sores and pain that have then done. The English people came and took everything, single right of theirs. They will have to fight only with peekay help, by their side. Gathering entail and knowledge. Giving hope and path to take.
This gives the audience a chance to see things more clearly. Sometimes there's clue that our eyes can't catch, things that are not spotted. So that when the close up comes in a giving a excelling view of the object or person. It tells more about the person expression without actually saying it. [show don’t tell]
Camera shot are just like our eyes establishing shot stand from a top of the hill. Long shot running down to catch the ball. Over the shoulder trying to see what's happening on their phone. Lucky last close up getting really close to. Something or someone to see properly our eyes are unique and everywhere single part of the human body.


Final Paragraph


Conclude all together there was a lot of different emotions that you can't really explain. The technique was flawless because some people felt where the director was coming from. his aspect and idea for the movie that part of the scene. Was the beginning of an up rise for the Africans people. Trying to claim its land, house and all its poverty that really belong to their people.
You know what this movie have told me that action and more convincing than words itself. Fighting for what you stand for being strong for others, giving a helping hand. To different and all kinds of people. Even though they are black, white or mix we are all equal. We are all human beings that have human rights too. Some see them different but it does give. Them right too cause they haven't check themselves in the mirror first before they judge. Things like this are still happening world wide. We need to take a stand and stop the apartheid in different country and becoming worse state from how it is.



What am i proud of-
I started writing my assess and i was getting it on but there was sometime i got stuck but it was fine.
I finished writing my assess and i so so happy because i have done the work. i so going to be happy for the mark i get i'm pretty surprise that i got level 4 too. But i learn from my mistake and now. i have something to work to wards.
What can i do to prove for the next time. i can use for protective words that drags the reader to ward my story and doesn't wanted to get lose something to drone in.

Blood and Bones -chapter's.

chapter 22- Amari
I pause for a moment, aghast at the number of them filling the narrow path.
Before today, I caught only glimpses of the laborers brought in to staff the
palace—always pleasant, clean, groomed to Mother’s satisfaction. Like Binta, I
thought they lived simple lives, safe within the palace walls. I never considered
where they came from, where else they might have ended up,
“Skies…” It’s almost too hard to bear the sight. Mostly diviners, the laborers
outnumber the villagers by hordes, dressed in nothing but tattered rags. Their
dark skin blisters under the scorching sun, marred by the dirt and sand
seemingly burned into their beings. Each is hardly more than a walking
skeleton.

chapter 23- Zelie

Metal gates fly open on the sides of the arena floor, and an endless flow of

water rushes in. This has to be a mirage. Yet liter after liter flows in. The water

covers the metal ground, crashing with the expanse of a sea.

“How is this possible?” I hiss under my breath, remembering the laborers no

more than skin and bone. So many dying for water and they waste it on this?

chapter 26- inan
“How long?” she breathes. “How long have you been a maji?”
She hisses the word like it’s a curse. Like I’m the spitting image of Lekan. Not
the boy she’s known since birth. The soldier she’s trained for years.
“The girl infected me. It’s not permanent.”
“You’re lying.” Her lips peel back in disgust. “Are you…are you working with
her?”
“No! I was looking for clues!” I step forward. “I know where she is–”
“Stay back!” Kaea screams. I freeze, hands in the air. There’s no recognition in
her eyes.
Only unbridled fear.

This is related, to finding out what you really are without even knowing. The truth, if you thought you were Samoan your whole life, but found out that you were really Hawaiian. You were adopted because your mother didn't expect. To have you and toss you away into the sea and that were you found some people took you in. Rises you to the person you are today.

being infected by a poison or a disease and others and keeping aware of you. Not being able to accept who you really are, because of what you have done regretting every single part of it. Will they accept you now if they found out the truth including family.

chapter 28- Amari Be brave, Amari.

This time I hold onto Binta’s words, wrapping them around my body like a suit

of armor. I can be brave.

For me it's like someone is telling you a juicy secret. You couldn't tell anyone because it was only meant only for your ears. Someone important to you died and you remember the quote [say's], that he always told you. You keep it close to your heart. Pushing you out of your comfort zone to different kinds of limits.

chapter 33- Zelie.

Gods help us. I close my eyes, trying to drown the tragedy out. Through it all,
the cheers never stop. The praise never ends. As we stand on the platform, the
crowd rejoices as if there’s a reason to celebrate this bloodbath.
Beside me, Tzain holds me close; he hasn’t really let go since he carried me
from the ship. He keeps his expression vacant, but I can sense his remorse.
Though the competitor in him has prevailed, we’re still covered in the blood of
those who have fallen. We may have triumphed, but this is no victory.

This part of the book, remind me of the movie divergent. Beatrice prior and Roth was the main character in the movie. It was showing us that they are not only fighting for themselves but all the people standing behind them [supporting]. Finally taking down ------ and achieving their life time goal.

chapter 36- Zelie

“Those are father’s words, Inan. His decisions. Not yours. We are our own

people. We make our own choices.”

“But he’s right.” Inan’s voice cracks. “If we don’t stop magic, Orïsha will fall.”

His eyes return to me, and I tighten my grip on my staff. Try it, I want to bark.

I’m done running away.

Amari redirects Inan’s line of vision, her delicate hands cupping the back of his

head.

“Father is not the future of Orïsha, brother. We are. We stand on the right side

of this. You can stand there, too.”

Inan stares at Amari, and for a moment I don’t know who he is. The ruthless

captain; the little prince; the scared and broken maji? There’s a longing in his

eyes, a desire to give up the fight. But when he lifts his chin, the killer I know

comes back.

Sometime you have to make choices that other people don't agree with, but you know that you are making the right choice. To take a stand and example of this will be that memory don't me to go home but I have to go home, I continue to go home because I know that's what is right.

chapter 39- Inan 

My hand shakes. The moment to kill still hangs between us. Yet I can’t bring

myself to move.

Not when all I see is the scared and broken girl.

It’s like seeing her for the first time: the human behind the maji. Fear

embedded in the pain. Tragedy caused in Father’s name.

Father…

The truth sears, a bitter liquor burning down my throat.

Zélie’s memories don’t hold the villains Father always warned of. Only families

he tore apart.

A family having an argument disagree what is good for the family. Being a part from your family taken away. Fearing that what she has been scared have will come true will happen. Not wanting to known for what her father has done.

chapter 41- Inan

Looking at Zélie, I finally have the answer to the question I was too afraid to
ask. I cannot be like Father.
I will not be that type of king.
I let go of her wrists, but inside I let go of so much more. Father’s tactics. His
Orïsha. Everything I now realize I don’t want to be.
My duty has always been to my kingdom, but it must be for a better Orïsha. A
new Orïsha.
A land in which a prince and a maji could coexist. A land where even Zélie and
I could be a “we.”

If I am to truly fulfill my duty to my kingdom, that is the Orïsha I must lead.  

You don't have to become your father, but you could be someone better not only. Accepting certain people but all. Also stop for a minute and look from their point of view. Seeing what they have been through. 

chapter 49-  amari

taking a stand when someone is in need for example you. if you see someone that being bullied don't be a by stander stand up for them cause something wonderful could happen to you once in your life. Come out of your comfort zoon and explore different limits that you couldn't even known you could achieve. Become a lionar not a cub you could do this if you tried like realzzzzzzzz.

social studies- boomerang.

boomerangs.

1. Explain the purpose of the activity.

The was a main helping resources. That the aboriginal people used for survival and different of activity. Including hunting for food to kept the family and village alive. Playing games like seeing who could throw the furthest  and to tell a story from history time. There's a lot of ways that could be used for. 

2. Explain the story on your boomerangs, including the meaning of the colours.

For me i was going about love. how to mates meet and fell in love and want to spend there whole life together. But the only thing keeping these lover apart is there people, they come from different kinds. They have been a war between the two kind of miss understanding. Worried that the village will found out and not accept their love for one another. they took the risk anyway and run off. Not letting anyone know where they lived happily ever after. The colours  tells there life time adventures and success.  

3. What went well while you were painting your boomerangs 

Nothing, expect for mixing colours and putting them all over the place. i should have not put to much details, because it really hard to paint around over and in it. It was tricky for the first part but through time. It started come to together and everything went well. well for the last bit of the painting and finishing was my favorite part of all of it. I mess up most of my painting.  

4.ADD PHOTO

Aim- To make a metal oxide and observe the difference in properties of the products compared to the reactants.

Equipment- A piece of magnesium, Bunsen burner, safety glasses, metal scissor tongs.

Method- 

1. l=Light your Bunsen burner.
2. Hold piece of magnesium in the scissor tongs. Ensure you are holding onto the very tip of the magnesium.
3. Place the other end of the magnesium into the Bunsen flame [at the top of the blue flame].
4. When the magnesium begins to burn, do not look directly at it, as the light emitted can permanently damage your eyes

Result- When you hold the little piece of metal over the flame its create a spark with different sorts of colours.

Discussion- We all help in with a part of the experiment. 

Observation- It look like fireworks flying every where in the room like the ones at rolleston but way smaller and plain.

Neutralization.

Aim-
 To observe a neutralization reaction.

Method-
add appropriately 1-2 ml of na2 co3 and place the test tube into the test tube rack add 3-5 of universal indicator solution.

using a dropper bottler, add HCI drop by drop. Be careful because adding a small amount of extra acid mean you you'll miss the neutralization point. 

Result-


Dissuasion-
We first tested the indicator with the acid then it turned into red then. We used indicator with base then is started to make this blue purple colour. We keep on doing it until we got all the colour. we all had a part into to help, it was a success.

Conclusion-
This was the result that had pop out to be after the experiment but mainly having fun . WELL DONE GUYS.

Making Indicators

Aim-To make acid-base indicators using everyday substance.

Method:
Chop the cabbage int small pieces until you have enough to fill 2 cups. Place the cabbage in a large beaker and add water to cover the cabbage. Boil over a Bunsen burner for at least ten minutes for colours to leach out of the cabbages. Filter out the plant material to obtain a red-purple-bluish coloured liquid. This liquid is at about hp 7 [the exact colour you get depends on the ph of the water.
Places in a small beakers and leave to one side. repeat this method for beetroot.

Result


Discussion
My group had decide to experiment on acid and base for cabbage, the acid made the indicator red. Then the base made the indicator green. If you mix it together it made up different colours showing whether is basic or acidic.

Conclusion 
This is the after finishing and is was a success. By mixing the acid-base with indicator for what we were hoping for.

Statement- Worldwide, 40 million children below the age of 15 have been suffering through abuse and neglect. approximately about 27 million people are enslaved in the human trafficking trade all over the whole world. 

Explain- Because child labor is one of the most roadblocks to human rights into days generation. government and all that stuff are helping our children to have a good childhood. To develop their abilities and raise up around a good community and environment. without working on jobs that could kill them without getting a reasonable payment and including people suffering and eventually dying. Poverty and lack of school is another meaning for child labor because you won't be prepared for the future and when it comes to an interview or something you won't have the standard and qualification for that working environment.

Example- There is an organization trying to help child labor by developing a program that sponsors children all around the world. Getting a sponsorship, gives them an opportunity of going back to school getting a good education for kids to attend. Sponsor has 50 percent of graduating college and there is 14 to 18 percent of getting salaried employment, promising future for kids.

Link- That more of us have to try standing up for the child laborers and slavery giving justice. Reduce the numbers to go down changing the mind of people. Show your support tear down their business giving the people that are living in poverty a chance at a better life. We are all equal.
